Descriptions:
Watch after a breakup and a freezer full of frozen eggs, as a snarky lesbian from Queens sets out on a hilariously tragic dating spree—dodging delusional dog moms, conspiracy-theorist stoners, and ruthless sushi scammers—in hopes of finding real love (or at least someone who actually brings something to the damn picnic). This journey through the chaotic modern dating landscape captures the exhausting yet comedic reality of trying to find “the one” when the options feel increasingly absurd.

Intentionally cultivated with a talented cast and crew of women, nonbinary, and queer folks to shoot a mockumentary-style short film, Fruit Loops is a vibrant love letter to queer storytelling. Unlike traditional narratives that lean heavily on struggle, the focal point here isn’t trauma or the uphill battle for societal acceptance. Instead, we are seeking to display genuine intersectionality and raw human connections in all their gradient facets, utilizing the rich tapestry of the queer community as the essential backdrop for these stories.
By expanding the lens of representation, this project highlights the universal awkwardness of romance and the relatable quest for a soulmate. It is a priority now more than ever to tell joyful and normalizing stories that bridge the gaps between our various backgrounds, allowing us to connect through our shared experiences. We aim to find the underlying humor in our collective struggles to find love and a true sense of belonging in a world that often feels disconnected. This film serves as a reminder that even in the middle of a dating disaster, there is community, laughter, and hope.
