Beneath the Branch (Short Film) | Silent Lesbian Black and White Horror

In this award-winning silent horror short, a young girl’s dark obsession spirals into a fatal tragedy. Strikingly captured in black and white, Between the Trees premiered in the Top Ten at the 2015 Phoenix Comic Con Film Challenge, ultimately securing a Top Five finish and winning Best Use of Music.

The production centered on using Sergei Prokofiev’s “Montagues and Capulets” alongside a hidden Star Wars prop. Starring Sara Jackson and Michaela Ivey, this Winter Kane creation masterfully blends suspense with a haunting lesbian narrative, exploring the thin, dangerous line between intense devotion and total destruction.
