the start & the center – short film (2022)

In her directorial debut, Alexis G. Zall presents a poignant short film starring Lukita Maxwell and Genneya Walton. The story follows two queer childhood best friends who reunite at a house party, where they navigate the tension and uncertainty of finally hooking up.

A critical success, the film premiered at BFI Flare and earned Zall the Colin Higgins Youth Filmmaker grant at Outfest 2022.
