Why I escaped Indonesia for being a lesbian (and how I did it)

In this debut video, I share the personal reality of growing up gay in a religious household in Indonesia and the desperate steps I took to escape for my survival. While I regret the way I left, departing for New York in 2014 was necessary to find freedom. I’ve chosen to be transparent about my past rather than post a curated vlog, addressing the struggles LGBT youth face in restrictive environments.
