The Rug – A Chilling Horror Short Featuring a Senior Citizen Crew

In this unsettling short horror film, an elderly woman named Edna discovers a discarded throw rug with a carnivorous appetite. The mysterious object possesses the chilling ability to digest anything placed beneath it, growing increasingly insatiable with every meal. After the rug consumes her bothersome landlord and an inquisitive police officer, its power spirals out of control. Edna soon finds herself a prisoner in her own home, hunted by the very object she brought inside. Based on Edo van Belkom’s short story, this unique production was filmed with a crew of senior citizens through the New Horizons for Seniors Program.
